What does that photograph from Paris tell us!

The world stood by France in the wake of the Paris attacks. The highest-ranking officials of many countries, including Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, represented their nations by joining hundreds of thousands of people in a march and displayed a clear stance against terrorism.

Countless articles will be written about this march and related events across the globe; television broadcasts about it will continue for days, and comments and analyses will be brought forth by referring to it as humanity’s conscience standing up to terrorism. It is the right thing to do. It is the emotion being felt by the hundreds of thousands gathered there in the face of such insecurity in the world. It is why no one will even stoop so low as to question the “Paris solidarity,” which is against terrorism.

There is, however, one topic that we need to question. The issue is not about the stance adopted against terrorism. There is absolutely no problem with the political language used. Every country is in indisputable solidarity against such types of attacks anyway.

Ever since Sept. 11, 2001, there have been no shortcomings in the security policies of European countries and the United States in particular. These countries created tough legislation, established units and conducted operations against terrorism that could often be termed fascist.

Unfortunately the common stance adopted by European leaders in particular, and the sincerity of their countries, on the topic of terrorism is not as clear as yesterday’s photograph. Nobody can deny any longer that many of these leaders used the intelligence agencies of their countries and their financial resources to resort to illegitimate methods in the power struggles taking place in the Middle East and the war to divvy the spoils. No one can deny that they collaborated with many (illegal) organizations and used them against the countries that were targeted.

THINKING LIKE NETANYAHU AND MURDOCH…

Even if we leave aside the past record and the history of committing slaughter that these countries have; anyone who conducts a realistic questioning of the actions of these countries in the past 20 years will see how these core countries have used terrorism as a foreign policy instrument, transformed it into a “trump card,” and brought countries and societies to their knees via terrorism.

They will see how countries in our near environs have been tormented in the past 25 years, and that the attempts that paved the way for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people are a result of the security-based and divvying up of spoils strategies of these countries.

Is there anyone left who is unaware of how they nurtured terrorist groups within Turkey for years, and still possess the habit of trying to issue orders to Turkey via these organizations.

The picture of European leaders participating in a joint march against terrorism was just as paradoxical as seeing Benjamin Netanyahu and Mahmoud Abbas in the same frame. There isn’t much of a gap between the outlook held by media boss Rupert Murdoch, who is a member of the Israeli extreme right, and says “all Muslims are responsible for the attack” and the point of view held by a majority of European countries.

WHO DECLARED IT THE CENTURY OF WAR AGAINST ISLAM!

In-depth operations to ostracize Muslims and foreigners on the continent and to get rid of them; the underhanded nurturing of extreme right groups; the nurturing of (illegal) organizations with a Muslim identity in order to equate Islam with terrorism; and the veiled attacks carried out via these organizations have reached a level which can’t be concealed any longer.

Europe needs to sit down and question itself a bit. It doesn’t sound very convincing when these organizations first receive backing; and then they shed tears later and try to rouse the world to take action in light of the fight against terrorism.

They should have considered the consequences of their policies while they were succumbing to the global security doctrines of the United States and Israel’s extreme rightists, while they were declaring the 21st century as the century of war against Islam, while they were spreading chaos through Muslim-populated lands, while they were massacring hundreds of thousands of people, while they were denigrating all that is holy, and while they were trampling identities underfoot due to their racist views.

It should now be known that no country is safe. They won’t be safe as long as these policies continue in the same vein. Terrorism will strike at all of them someday, just like it happened in Paris. They took a dangerous gamble and continue to do so. I am certain that we will see the international repercussions of these attacks. It won’t be long before we learn of what type of operation will be conducted in which country.

As long as you continue to wage a global war against a civilization and members of a faith, similar events will repeat themselves regardless of the security measures you take. But you won’t call it off; you will intensify it and have the blood of thousands more on your hands.

The West needs to urgently fix its problematic relations with the world of Islam and develop a new language. This language of war-mongering, invasion, derogation, and destruction needs to be abandoned. How unfortunate that matters are headed in exactly the opposite direction. This war will create far graver consequences throughout the 21st century.

Take a look at the language used by the Western media and in Western politics. Almost all of Europe is resorting to policies of rage targeting the “enemy.” Policies manufactured to gain the votes of those with racist and extreme rightist inclinations.

As long as policies of aggression, plunder, and occupation against the world of Islam continue to be implemented; western capitals will continue to be hit by violence.

TURKEY NEEDS TO BE ON ALERT

Will Turkey be faced with a similar trend in the run-up to elections? Concerns have been raised following the Dolmabahçe and Sultanahmet attacks. It is possible if terrorism is a tender process. Some people might be awarding contracts these days to spread turmoil on Turkey’s streets.

It doesn’t really matter which organization does their bidding. Concerns are growing given the tension in Europe, the extraordinary situation in our region, and the rapid elevation of security-related issues across the globe in the past few weeks.

Some people might be disturbed by Francois Hollande’s statement of “we should have toppled Assad.” The quarters that have been disturbed might even be European. It could even be his friends and allies. We should recall the types of terrorist attacks carried out to shape the positions of various countries prior to the occupation of Iraq, and how those countries were brought into line following the attacks.

The application of the highest level of protocol for the first time to greet Mahmoud Abbas could disturb some people in a similar manner. Future events will have to be read very well.

Many people already find Turkey’s position on the Syrian issue very disturbing. Some people are implementing a project of encirclement to the south of Turkey, even while the quest for normalization in Syria continues. A plan is being implemented to create an anti-Turkey belt along the Afrin-Kobane-Qamishli axis, and to sever all its ties with the south.

This is not just Salih Müslim’s plan. The Kobane events were planned and directed from abroad with the intention of paralyzing Turkey from the inside, and was an attempt to hold Turkey to account by resorting to urban terrorism.

This project of encirclement on its own might suffice to make Turkey a target for terrorism again. It is clear that the plan for a “North Syria state” is not about Syria but a calculation made with regard to Turkey. So, which countries are behind this plan? When you find that out you will also know the identities of those subcontracting terrorism. I am certain that some of them were in that photograph taken in Paris.

MUSLIMS WILL NOT APOLOGIZE…

Those trying to use the Paris attacks to make Muslims apologize, make them feel embarrassed and make them seek forgiveness, should first display the grace to apologize for the hundreds of thousands of Muslims killed in the last 25 years alone.

Our 20th century was wasted as a result of their boorish policies of occupation and colonization. They are trying to do the same in the 21st century. In our region we no longer see as sincere those with so much blood on their hands, those who collaborate with the Israeli extreme right, those who have now become even more aggressive by linking up with the neoconservatives and Europe’s racists and are willing to drag countries toward disaster for the sake of a barrel of oil.

It was fine when they were exporting terrorism to the world. But they raise hell when it turns around like a boomerang and strikes Europe. Remember that the biggest victims of terrorism are Muslim countries. Come on; let us take joint action against the terrorism being witnessed in these parts. Be sincere and realistic.

This won’t happen. Europe is headed in exactly the opposite direction.
